Scenario:
Now you must be thinking whats so great to blog about taking a mobile connection. It is , because every bad experience teaches you more than a good one.
Process:
Even though it is so simple to get a new connection these days but lot of small small things will frustrate you. With so many agents in every nook and corner its hard to trust anyone.
Documents :
Usually you need following documents
-- Identification Proof , can be PAN , Voters ID , Passport etc
-- Address Proof - Electric Bill , Land line Bill etc
-- Photo - passport size
What my experience says :
1. Understand the plan very well for which you are opting, Local STD SMS Roaming etc all the charges
2. Don't take the connection with the agent who has a fix shop/spot so that you can trace him in case of issues.
3. Don't give originals of supporting document in any case
4. Make sure to have a XEROX of application you are submitting
5. Don't leave it to agent to fill the form specially Plan choices , Address and other important info as you will suffer a lot for his/her mistake in future.
6. In case of any security deposit amount , make sure to make the check in the name of Mobile provider company and not individual. Avoid CASH business.
7. Check charges and process to change plan in future. This is very important and don't miss this one out.
Some more tips on usage :
1. In our virtually busy world we don't have time to look at bill details. Make sure to review the 1st few bills in detail
2. Register online on the provide website for alerts to avoid overdue bill payments charges.
3. In case you planning to cancel an existing cancel, make sure to call helpline and settle all the dues by paying outstanding amount get a reference number for the request. You will thank me for this :)

Attending a function
Even though this is not the full list of what all you should plan or care about to get most out of your money spent on any function you arrange :)
Communication
-- Make sure cell-phone(s) are charged
-- Make sure you have optimum balance in your cell phone(s) to receive and make calls.
-- You can use SMS as a mean to send reminders to all the attendes one day before.
Dress :
-- Make sure you try your newly bought dresses before hand for fittings.
-- Make sure to carry a Hand-chief all the time
Location :
-- Make sure you have already visited and have mentioned people very well the landmarks and address of the function place to all the friends.
-- You can use SMS to share the location details ( location / landmark and numbers to contact in-case help needed )
Medical :
-- Make sure you have some common medicines available at all time, dont think that you got a medical shop right front of your house. That may closed when you really need it.
Money :
-- Usually people look for ATMs to get the cash out, so make sure you know the maximum limit for ATMs and also location of at least 2-3 near by ATMs.
Transportation :
-- Make sure your gas ( petrol ) tanks are full.
Safety:
-- Try to assign IDs for the temporary helpers hired so that your guest can identify them and also they can be addressed by name.
Cleanliness :
-- Provide trash at various spots to make sure area is clean all the time
-- Provide wash bins with soap etc
-- Provide tissue ( good quality, not for name sake )
Guests:
- Out station guests usually need more co-ordination and help then local guests, so make sure they know how to reach the location.

Writing a good resume
In past few months I have seen a lot of resumes as I was interviewing people.
If you are again in market for a new job. Then go through this checklist for making sure that you have an effective resume
Initial things :
-- Make sure you are ready for interview calls, if not make a revision plan and target to float your resume accordingly. Usually it takes 1 week to get your 1st call after you float your resume around.
-- Make sure you are not missing calls because you dont have cell network. You need to make sure you are reachable during office hours. You might consider switching to a better service provider.
Review the resume :
-- Don't write RESUME or CURRICULUM VITAE
-- Make sure you have your name clearly written. This should be in bold with a lager font, but not too big.
-- If you name is hard to pronounce, in braces you can include the name you want to get addressed by caller.
-- Include your blog address or linked in profile link , if you have something like that created.
-- Include you personal email which you check more often, need to be professional looking, shud not be some thing like hyd2010_abids@hotmail.com
-- Include your contact information , preferably cell phone number.
-- Specify your career objective clearly ( 2-3 lines ). Revise it with increasing experience. Try not to copy it from some-where and write of your own.
-- Provide a summary of your skills, you total experience, relavant experience, domains knowledge etc etc.
-- Create a separate section , if you have a demanding skill and give details related to that in this section.
-- Have a section for any professional certification / training you have taken, preferably a table type.
-- If you are a fresher, specify your % or grades in various courses, otherwise just specify highest degree earned.
-- Give details of the projects you have done under Professional Experience Section. For each project make sure to clearly explain the client name , location , project dates , your role , project summary ( 3-6 lines ), your responsibilities in the mentioned role and tools used ( 1 line ) .
-- For the last 3 projects provide the information in more detail for others you can drop the responsibilities section.
hmm.. what else
-- Personal Details section (optional): Dont include father / husband name / you house address / your martial status and race. Gender is also optional but if you can want you can include it.
-- No need to add disclaimer .. "I certify that all info is correct" .. funny
-- No need to add References, you can email them later when your future employer request you.
-- No need to put your name at the bottom or sign it.. trust me I have seen people doing it.
-- Make sure not to mention your current salary any where in the resume. You can tell when your future employer ask you about it.Also make sure when they ask you about your current salary, you also mention the perks/benefits you have with the current job.
Finally :
-- Make sure you are using ONE SINGLE font in the whole resume
-- Make sure you are using ONE type of BULLETS to arrange line items
-- Make sure you run the PREPARE Document wizard ( its there in Word program ) to clean all the properties. So many times resume is of Person X and Author of the document still says Person Y's name..
-- Make sure your resume should not go beyond 5 pages in any case.
-- Get it reviewed by a senior friend.. ok <-- Me ? that will be costly ;)
Leave me a comment if this helped you. Happy job Hunt.. :)
